Job Title: Executive Director
Organization: Main Street Buena Vista (MSBV)
Reports To: MSBV Board of Directors
Compensation: Part-time, $25,000 annual salary

Position Summary:
Main Street Buena Vista is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated individual to serve as its part-time Executive Director. This position plays a key role in revitalizing and promoting Buena Vista’s downtown district by working closely with the Board of Directors, local stakeholders, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary liaison with Virginia Main Street (VMS) and fulfill all reporting requirements.

• Prepare and submit monthly reports to the Board and City Council.

• Collaborate with the city’s Economic Development team to support revitalization goals.

• Work with committees to identify and secure grants, aligning funding opportunities with MSBV’s budget and goals.

• Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote downtown businesses, events, and initiatives.

• Engage with local business owners, community organizations, and stakeholders to strengthen partnerships.

• Plan and execute downtown events such as Mountain Day and Spooktacular that enhance community engagement.

• Manage MSBV’s social media platforms, website updates, and public relations activities.

• Other duties as assigned by the board or required by VMS.

 

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Creative thinker with a passion for community development and small business growth.

• Nonprofit or management experience preferred.

• Experience in marketing, event planning, or public relations.

• Knowledge of the Main Street program is beneficial but not required.

• Familiarity with grant writing is a plus.

• Proficient in time management and working independently.
